Movie: Tees Maar Khan
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Akshaye Khanna and Arya Babbar
Director: Farah Khan
Genre: Action comedy
Rating: 2 out of 5
Review: Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ is a film that is heavily inspired from the 1966 film ‘After the Fox’ and like the original (which was heavily whipped by the critics), the adaptation is as absurd and over-the-top.
The film is about a typical con Tabrez Mirza Khan aka Tees Maar Khan (Akshay Kumar) who is a master of crime and was adept in crime even before he was born coz his pregnant mother used to watch crime movies. How funny!

After Akshay accepts an assignment to rob antiques worth crores from a moving train, he puts up a pretence of being a Hollywood film maker and turns a mock director with Aatish Kapoor (Akshaye Khanna) and Anya (Katrina Kaif) as the lead actors.
Katrina is a bimbo who is also Akshay’s girlfriend and has little to do other than flashing her newly trimmed body in songs and dances. Talking of songs, they are par excellence and have that Farah Khan touché. In fact, songs are the only good things about this mindless saga.
But the writing is extremely poor for which the credit goes to Shirish and Ashmit Kunder. There is a big crater sized pothole in the threadbare script and most jokes and gags are slapsticks.

Akshay tries hard to make you laugh but loses out to pathetic writing job. Overall, there is masala and the film is likely to do
well owing to the festive fervour but in case you are looking for a sensible landmark film, then you shall be heading for a big big disappointment.
