The Cottagers are just above the drop zone, thanks mainly to a superior goal difference over Wigan Athletic. Last week they slumped to their fifth loss of the season when they lost 2-1 to Arsenal. A brace from Samir Nasri nullified Diomansy Kamara’s 30th minute goal to give Arsenal all three points. Fulham boss Mark Hughes is finding life tough at the Cottage, but has insisted that his side has the ability to bounce back. Bobby Zamora is a long-term absentee, but Hughes has an otherwise fit squad at his disposal.
Meanwhile Sunderland moved to the 7th spot on the league table with a 1-0 win over West Ham last week. A lone goal from Jordan Henderson was enough to give all points to the Black Cats, much to the delight of manager Steve Bruce. Michael Turner and Titus Bramble continue to miss out, but John Mensah might be fit for this game.
